M-Groups are our version of small groups that meet throughout the week in homes that are intentionally focused on MISSION, hence the “M” in M-Groups.
The mission of the church is to represent and glorify God throughout the world. This can only be done through the person and work of Jesus Christ. Through him we are forgiven and changed to look like him, thus representing and glorifying him. God created the family in Genesis 1 as the means by which people will grow and reproduce. He has chosen the same means of growth and reproduction for the church, family. We are the family of God and are called to come to him in worship, while at the same time be sent out by him on mission. M-Groups are the primary means by which we become the family of God so as to represent him and glorify God throughout the world.
To see every Fielder involved in a M-Group Family and to see every M-Group Family reproducing.
We want to be a church “of” small groups, not a church “with” small groups. We believe this is the most important aspect of “being” the church in the world. As we gather together to go on mission, build relationships, and study the scriptures, we will grow together as a family in community. It is not something we will have to make happen, it just happens.
We want to use our time wisely so that we can truly “be” the church in the world. Each month we will have these 3 aspects in all of our M-Groups.
Relational – One week will focus on fellowship and just hanging out together, as well as providing a great place for guests to come and meet everyone. We will plan a family dinner, night at the park, or anything that will allow us to relax and spend time with one another.
Missional – One week will be spent intentionally engaging the community in some way to show the love of Christ in a tangible way. This could be serving at a city function, helping a friend or family in need, prayer walking a neighborhood, serving in a shelter, volunteering at our YMCA, etc.
Biblical – The remaining 2 or 3 weeks each month will be spent discussing that weeks sermon. We hope that discussing each weeks sermon will take it from being just something you hear and make it something you do. It will bring practical application of the truths of Scripture with friends and family.
5 C’s of a Missional Group
When you take people who are COMMITTED to CONNECTING with others, the CONTENT of the Bible, and a missional CAUSE, you have the opportunity to see CHANGE in your group and the world.
It is our hope that you will find community and family in these groups. We want you to grow in your understanding and love for God, while at the same time, learning to live missionally and reaching the world for Christ.
