Our World’s Broken Sexuality

The gospel of Jesus Christ speaks into all areas of life, which includes the area of sexuality.  However, our culture increasingly works to redefine a healthy sexual ethic as self-manufacturing over self-sacrificing, as person-centered over Christ-centered.  The results are numerous and varied, but can include sexual promiscuity, divorce, homosexuality, sexual addiction, and pornography.  As a result, so many men and women in our community suffer from the numerous consequences of a unhealthy sexual ethic.

Sexual Brokenness Healed In Christ

But when the world says, “you can make yourself,” the Bible says, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:24).  When it says, “you can define love,” we can say, “this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:10).  God desires that everyone would repent and believe in Jesus, who alone can forgive us and give us grace for all of our brokenness.

Pursuing Biblical Sexuality

Image result for living hope ministriesGod Himself has revealed His desire for healthy sexuality through Jesus and His word, if we as believers would but seek it and submit to it.  Here is where Living Hope Ministries steps in and seeks to help bring restoration, healing, and growth through administering the gospel of Christ and His word.  Their mission is “to proclaim God’s truth as [they] journey with those seeking sexual and relational wholeness through a more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.”  Some of our own church members have benefited from the biblical counseling, discipleship, and relationships that Living Hope provides.  As a church, we stand firm with Living Hope through our support to love the broken and speak the truth and walk in life.  We also allocate a portion of our yearly giving to Living Hope so that they can continue to thrive in local ministry.

If you or someone you know is dealing with issues related to sexuality, we encourage you to take advantage of the many resources, online forums, support groups, and other opportunities Living Hope has available at their website.  Click here to learn more.
