Jesus is ultimately the head of the church, the body of Christ (Ephesians 5:23). Paul said in Ephesians 4:4-6, “There is ONE body and ONE Spirit-just as you were called to ONE hope that belongs to your call-ONE Lord, ONE faith, ONE baptism, ONE God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” God then showed grace to all by giving the responsibility of leading the church to some and the responsibility of being the church to others.
The leadership of The Fields is in the form of Elders and Deacons. Both groups of Elders and Deacons include both staff and lay members, paid and volunteer, because the church is made up of both and should both be represented.
The Elders are the servant leaders of the church leading through prayer and the teaching of the Scriptures
Deacons are the leading servants of the church in areas of great need.
