Megan Tanner has a true, God-given passion and desire to work with children, which she has shown through several years of teaching Kindergarten in the Metroplex. She is also a founding member of the Fields, having served as the Fields Kids Deacon since the very beginning. Megan worked so hard for our church, coordinating with our volunteers weekly to ensure the most meaningful and intentional time for our kids to hear the gospel. Now, in being faithful to proclaim the name of Jesus to the nations, she has embarked on a journey to Kenya.
It is a spiritual journey of faith because the whole process has stretched and challenged her walk with Jesus unlike anything before. It is a physical journey of faith because she’ll be relocating her life in Texas to Kenya – and she needs your help! After being so faithful to serve in our church for four years, God has called her to be faithful to serve in teaching the students at Rift Valley Academy.
Rift Valley Academy (RVA) is a Christian boarding school in central Kenya. The academy is a branch of Africa Inland Mission International which serves hundreds of students from more than 20 African nations. The school’s purpose is to provide a quality education in a nurturing environment for the children of missionaries serving in Africa. This enables these missionaries to live in remote and unstable environments in hopes of reaching the unreached and unengaged peoples of Africa. Megan will be teaching 3rd grade at RVA, striving to love these children and their families well and point them to Jesus.
Megan leaves for Kenya July 2016, but she needs our support now to begin raising funds to make this possible. Our church will be supporting her efforts, and as God leads you, we encourage you to join in on her journey of God’s faithfulness. Click here to donate and lend your support.
