WHO Are You?

My name is Denise Snow and I grew up in Dallas, TX.  I am a graduate of Texas A&M university which is where I met my husband, Mike, on a blind date.  We have been married since 1980. Our son and daughter-in-law Nathan and Fran live in Connecticut and have four children.  Our daughter and son-in-law Merideth and Brian live in Virginia.

WHAT Do You Do?

I am the Fields Kids Ministry coordinator for our church.  My responsibilities include teacher recruitment, placement, training and scheduling; managing the Gospel Project curriculum; maintaining the children’s ministry supplies; and most importantly, ensuring that the Fields Kids ministry clearly and lovingly presents the gospel message of redemption through Christ alone to the children.  I also serve in the planning of women’s fellowships and retreats.  Mike and I assist in hosting the Monday evening MGroup at the Moore’s home in Mansfield.

WHERE Do You Come From?

I was born and raised in Dallas, TX.  One week after Mike and I were married, we moved to Louisiana for his first post-college job.  However, we have spent the majority of our married life in the Midwest.  God transplanted us back to Texas in the summer of 2014.

WHEN Were You Saved?

The Lord saved my parents when I was a young child and they then began to faithfully shared what it meant to be a child of God with my brothers and me.  A few years later, one of my brothers was seriously ill and I expressed concern to my mother that if her died, he might spend eternity separated from God.  She lovingly encouraged me to consider my own eternal state and once again clearly explained how I needed to repent of my sin and trust in Jesus Christ for my salvation.  With my mom by my side, I prayed and repented of my sin and professed Jesus as Savior.  Although there have been times I have struggled to walk by faith and live a life pleasing to the Lord, Christ has always kept me close.  No matter what trials, temptations, or sufferings I may walk through, I hold fast to the promised hope of eternal life in Christ Jesus.

HOW Has The Gospel Impacted You Recently?

We use the Gospel Project curriculum in the Fields Kids, and each week as I study the lesson, God convicts me of the simple truths of the gospel that are being taught to the children.  Whether the emphasis might be that it is only by the Holy SPirit that our lives are changed and that He gives us the power to say no to sin and live in a way that pleases God, or that Jesus came into the world to save sinners and those who believe are to tell others the gospel, I realize again and again that it is the good news of Jesus Christ that is transforming me to become more like Christ.

WHY Are You At The Fields?

Upon relocating to Mansfield from St. Louis due to Mike’s job in 2014, we began the search for a new place to worship and serve the Lord.  After visiting a number of area churches over several months, the Lord led us to the Fields.  The very first Sunday we attended, we were blessed by Bryan’s expository sermon and were warmly welcomed.  As we continued to pray about a church home, we realized that with the priority placed on the teaching of God’s Word and the focus on building community in the local body, we could call The Fields our church home and serve the Lord here.
